Winter in Girona

9 April 2012

Whilst the temperatures reached - 15 in Moscow during March some of the Pestovo members decided to get some early season training done in the warm sunshine of Girona, Spain which is in the Costa Brava.
The weather was truly fantastic with the average temperature reaching +23, our accommodation was at the very beautiful Mas de Torrent boutique hotel and the local foods and wines was enjoyed by all.

Most importantly the golf courses and facilities were super, we played and practiced at a total of 7 different courses including PGA Catalunya, Emporda and Pals where they host the European tour qualifying school.
In total 4 different families attended the winter training beginning on the 17th March and ending on the 3rd of April.
Elena Romanova and her son Andrey junior arrived on the 17th and left on the 23rd of March, Ekaterina Berendeeva her husband Andrey Kelmanzon and their children, Nadya and Tatiana arrived on the 22nd and left on the 31st along with Sergey and Natalya Protesenya and their children Fedor and Varvara. Alexey and Viktoriya Sikaylo were the last to come arriving on the 29th March and leaving on the 3rd April.

Apart from some of the great golf that was played by our members some of the highlights of the trip was having the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of Ekaterina and Natalya and watching the children improve their golfing skills and their language skills as they were all being coached by the local professional who speaks both Spanish and English.

The training camps are not just a great way to improve your golf but it is also a opportunity to visit some great new places and see some very good golf courses.

I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank all the members who continue to support my winter training camps and for being great students.

Keep up the good work and I wish you all a fantastic 2012 season.

Happy golfing!
